Who Am I Anyway?

I’m Mary Furness, an East Coast woman transplanted to the Midwest. I’ve been traveling all my life…by car, train, plane, bus, and on foot. Mom and Dad sent me off on my first flight–alone!–when I was ten, and I was delighted. The sheer act of packing a bag thrills me. Tasting new food is all part of the adventure.

In my past career, spanning over 30 years, I was a broadcast journalist, freelance writer, and copy editor. While I still revel in the written word–and always will!– I currently make my living as a Research Assistant in Plant Sciences at a local University.
